Prelude to Ecstasy - The Last Dinner Party

Starting out with one my favorite albums of this project, but also now one of my favorite of all times. The Last Dinner Party's debut album is an experience all on its own.

With the orchestral title track that leads to a unique yet familiar blend of indie rock, pop, and baroque aesthetics, the band explores themes of power, identity, religious upbringing, all under the subtlest subtext of queerness. Each track leads in to the next beautifully, weaving moments of tenderness, to those of satire and sometimes ferality.
